A brief biography about myself.

I am a Graphic Designer originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico. Growing up in the deserts and mountains in New Mexico, I was immersed in both the Native and Spanish cultures that are unique to the Southwest. Catching lizards, devouring literature, setting up science experiments, and hiking mountain trails was my existence until the itch to explore more prompted me to go to school outside of New Mexico.

Moving away from the Southwest, I pursued a degree in Political Science and Philosophy at Oberlin College, as well as studying British politics and environmental policy in London.  While at Oberlin, I worked for the college website, having knowledge in HTML and Adobe Products. At this position I realized that design was my true interest and began to take more artistic challenges in life, in addition to academic. Finishing my liberal arts degree, Chicago called as the new destination.

Once in Chicago, I quickly found employment at the Chempetitive Group as a web designer and SEO specialist. While working at Chempetitive, I also took full time classes at the Illinois Institute of Art – Chicago and finished my second degree in Visual Communications.

Currently I work at Orbitz as Graphic and Web Designer, as well as Fullbleed Designs as an Art Director. When not working you can find me swing dancing or listening to blues or jazz at Chicago’s many venues, bars, and public spaces where music and dance combine.
