Internal Poster – Summer Picnic

One of my first assignments for Orbitz was to design a poster for the annual summer picnic. I came up with several options, playing on various themes and styles, mostly with illustration and mixed with photos taken from last year. Because of the existing retro style of Orbitz, I tried to emulate old aviation posters with marshmallows and skewers, merging travel and leisure. The other poster, the one actually used for the event, has a retro styled grill and mixed media with photos. Trade Gothic is default design font for Orbitz, and lends a modern styling to the typography treatment.
